Lessons ยท Unit 12: Intervals by shape

Sixths, sevenths and octaves

From the sixth on you stop counting and start measuring by eye. The octave is the easiest of all because both notes share a name and sit far apart, one on a line and the other in a space.

A sixth: C4 to A4
A seventh: C4 to B4
An octave: C4 to C5, the same name

The seventh is the awkward one: it looks like an octave one step short. Compare the two carefully before you start.

Drill

The session goes on until every skill below is mastered: at least 10 answers, at most 40. Your progress carries over between sessions.
