The four landmarks
Practise all four together until each one comes without thinking. Everything else in the treble clef will be read as a step or a skip from the nearest of these.
- C4: on the ledger line below, middle C.
- G4: on the second line, the one the clef curls around.
- C5: in the third space, right in the middle of the staff.
- F5: on the fifth line, the top one.
Drill
The session goes on until every skill below is mastered: at least 10 answers, at most 40. Your progress carries over between sessions.
