Eighth notes

An eighth note lasts half a beat: two eighths fit in one quarter. They are written with a flag or joined by a beam. To count them, split each beat in two: "1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and".

The eighths fall on "2 and"

Tap both eighths evenly, without rushing. The metronome beat falls on the first of each pair.
