Lessons ยท Unit 6: Rhythm II

Ties

A tie joins two notes of the same pitch: only the first is played and it lasts the sum of both. Ties stretch a note across a bar line or make lengths that have no note value of their own.

The half tied to the quarter in the next bar: three beats, one tap

In the drill, the second note of a tie is not tapped. It is the most common mistake: seeing a note and tapping it by reflex.

Drill

The session goes on until every skill below is mastered: at least 10 answers, at most 40. Your progress carries over between sessions.
