Reading with a pickup
This passage starts with a pickup: the first note falls on the last beat of the count-in, not on beat 1. Count the four clicks and place the loose note right on the fourth.
With eighths there are two notes to a beat, so the window narrows by itself. When in doubt, make sure you arrive on time for the next strong note.
