Treble ledger lines
When music leaves the staff, short lines are added: ledger lines. They count just like staff lines. Below the treble staff: C4 on the first ledger line, B3 hanging from it, A3 on the second. D4 sits between the staff and the first ledger line.
Above: G5 just over the fifth line, A5 on the first ledger line, B5 over it and C6 on the second ledger line.
