Lessons ยท Unit 9: Accidentals

On the keyboard

The keyboard makes tones and semitones visible. The white keys are the natural notes; the black keys, in groups of two and three, are the sharps and flats. C is the white key just left of the group of two black keys. F is left of the group of three.

Between E and F, and between B and C, there is no black key: that is why they are semitones. Here you will see a note on the staff and press the key it belongs to, from C4 (middle C) to C5.
